What is a Block Shoot?? |

The term block shoot comes from the old days when they shot a rifle at a block of wood with an X on it, or a notch cut in it, best shot wins. Now it is done with a shotgun and you shoot at a piece of cardboard with an X across it, and the closest "bb" to the center wins. At our club, most shoots use 12 Gauge Shotguns and the shots are $2.00 each. There are 2 or 3 winners each round usually Meat or Cash prizes. We provide the shells. We ALSO have Novice Shoots (before each 12 Gauge shoot) that use .410 gauge shotguns and we cut the price to $1.00 each and the prizes are Fishing and Hunting gear etc. The Novice shoots are open to ALL ages and are set up to allow new shooters a chance to try the sport with a "lighter gauge" shotgun. We provide all Ammo and have Shotguns you may Borrow - Free You do not need to be a member to shoot, but if you are under 16 you must have an adult with you (just like hunting) NOTE: At the 12 ga Shoots we also provide for the non shooters (moms etc). We have a wheel going inside along with raffles, strip tickets and refreshments and free beer (over 21 years of age). Click Here for a list of dates and other Club Events Membership is Available for only $15 for Jr's (under 16) or Sr's (over 65). All other “regular” membership is $35 per year but as I said it is NOT needed to come or to shoot.
